MEDICAL UPDATE FROM HEATHER FOSTER, FEB. 2, 2006

Most of you know Nate was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on MLK day Jan 16th. The whole right side of the prostate tested positive with cancer. Surgery was schedule to remove the prostate and preformed on Feb. 1st. The surgery took a little over 3 hours due to the fact that when removing the prostate the surgeon also found cancer in the bladder and had to remove some of the bladder. So that was both bad news and good news. Nate is glad the cancer was discovered and removed from the bladder. Now we just wait for the biopsy results to see what the next step is to save the rest of the bladder. We will not know those biopsy results until next week.

Nate is resting almost comfortably thanks to good drugs!! They removed the IVs this afternoon and he is now on oral meds and soft foods. He was up and walking this evening for about 10 minutes. He was watching the Wildcats play when I left the hospital, so you know he was a happy guy this evening!! Hopefully, he will have a comfortable night. The doctor will be in early in the morning and Nate should be released Friday, tomorrow, or Saturday. Needless to say he is pretty weak and is really too tired for phone calls at the
moment.

We want to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes. It has been a very heart warming experience to have so much love given to us from our family and friends. We are deeply moved.

God Bless you all
Heather and Nate

NATE'S MEDICAL UPDATE FROM HEATHER FEB. 9, 2006

Nate's home!! He was released from the hospital on Saturday the 4th of Feb and was able to enjoy the Super Bowl game Sunday on his "Plasma"!! He was pretty exhausted all day Monday from so much sports watching plus I think all the drugs from his surgery had really worn off by then. Vicodin has become a very good thing!! Tuesday was a doctor's appointment to remove Nate's 20 staples..........ouch*%!,ouch*%!,ouch*%! times 20!! The doctor says he got 99% of the bladder cancer and will have Nate do radiation to get the last 1%. The radiation will not start until Nate has healed from this surgery in about 4 months. In the meantime Nate will take a pill to control the cancer until the radiation can be started. I did not recognize the name of the medication but I think it was casodex. Next Monday the catheter will be removed and Nate should really feel much better then. He is getting stronger every day and his spirits are good. Tomorrow night is another U of A basketball game so he has high hopes of a Wildcat victory. Rolly and I attended Jake's 18th birthday party last night in Mesa and took lots of pictures for Grandpa Nate to see the event. Nate is still weak but as I said his spirits are good and the strength should come in another week or so. The doctor said most people really notice a turn for the better in the 3rd week so I think Nate will be right on schedule.

Again thank you one and all for the flowers, gifts, love and support. It is very humbling. Hopefully Nate's energy level will be up by the weekend and he will be able to do some communicating for himself.

Love you all
God Bless
Heather
THE LATEST IN A NOTE FROM NATE-FEB. 14, 2006

Dear Friends,

I want to thank all of you who have had me in your thoughts and prayers in the last few weeks.  The cards, flowers, visits, e-mails, calls and your thoughts  have been so helpful......I'm lucky to have so many friends.

Yesterdays checkup went well. I got rid of the damn catheter and am somewhat mobile....In 2 weeks I will start on a new drug and in 3 months I will have 3 weeks of radiation to get the last 1% of cancer left. I am on the road to recovery from the surgery.

Thanks to Heather and my Dad, Rolly, and the family for all their support and help in the last couple of weeks.
I really appreciate everyone's support and prayers.

God Bless
Nate
