NATE FOSTER
Nathan R. Foster (Nate) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 30, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 77. Nate was born in Seattle, Washington on April 14, 1941 to Rowland and Eleanore (Sue) Foster. He is survived by his children Robin Burke (Bill), Andrew Foster (Lisa), grandchildren Jake Burke (Angie), Nicole Burke, and Meadow Foster, plus his great grandson, Billy Burke. Sister Margie Doyle (Pat) and Heather Foster, his former wife, also survive him.

Nate graduated from Catalina High School in Tucson, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona. Nate worked over 23 years in management at J. C. Penney’s, where his career moved Nate and his family from Tucson, AZ to Las Vegas, NV, Honolulu, HI and Fresno, CA. Time was also spent as a sales representative for Stride Rite where he specialized in selling Keds. Then a few more years were spent in management again at J. C. Penney’s in Mesa, AZ. After retiring from J.C. Penney’s Nate spent 10 years at Arizona Stone as the original showroom sales manager in Mesa, AZ.

Nate had a passion for music, University of Arizona basketball, and church. In high school, he played in a Tucson band, the Nightbeats.  He was a founding member of St. Anthony’s on the Desert Episcopal church in Scottsdale and served 3 years as their Junior Warden. Most recently, he was on the Vestry at the Anglican Church of the Atonement in Fountain Hills, AZ.

Nate’s Memorial Service will be held December 17th at the Church of Atonement in Fountain Hills. The service will be at 1 p.m. with Father John F. Les Callett officiating.
