Gerald Criger

Hi , I regret that I have not participated in the reunions in the
past , but have read about them and wished I had attended.

I have worked in the wholesale pharmacetical business ever since
graduating from CHS , and filled a church mission in 1962 for two
years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in
Tennessee, and in 1964 Dec 18 married for 20 years and had 3 children
and have been blessed with 11 grand children.
I later remarried and was married for 25 years before divorce
happened again , but had no children in this marriage.

I played sports for many years playing baseball and officiating
baseball for many years , also played some basketball , but
officiated basketball for many years.

When I married first time , my work took me to California in the LA
area for 10 years , then moved back to Arizona to the Scottsdale area
for 9 months , then back to Tucson for about 15 months and then later
moved to Houston , Texas where I have been for the past 34 years , 30
years with one company and presently 22 yeras with the company I am
now with , still working in the same business and I love my job .

During the years in Texas I met a person who raced Homing Pigeons
which I became very interested in as I has pigeons when I was a kid
and I raced them as a hobby for the past 30 years and enjoyed alot,
but takes a lot of time and recently sold them and retired from
racing . I am planning to retire soon , but have not decided when and
where , I recently married and very happy , she works for the Dept.
of Defense as an auditor for goverment contracts,  I love to travel
and would like to do more .

I will be 70 years old this August 24 2011 and have been blessed with
good health , have all of my hair LOL have been accused of dying ,
but hair color has never seen my head , even tho have some gray
around my temples and starting to get a little salt and pepper , but
still blessed with full head of hair .

My wife, Elsa introduced me to facebook , but only play farmville &
farmtown   hahaha , wanna be my neighbor .

I come to Tucson usually once a year to see my kids and grand kids
and go fishing in northern Arizona up at Big Lake where I have gone
every since a kids when my parents took me .

I know this has been a fast 50 years , never liked english and
writing stories , but have enjoyed my life and have been very blessed
and thank God every day for my blessings , love my kids and grand
kids , my children names are Charlene , Rod and Pam all married and
live in Tucson , both my parents have passed on an are buried in
Tucson,

My grand father Lou Criger played major league baseball for
several teams , including Boston , he was a catcher and they won the
1903 World Series and I have his cather mitt that he caught with is a
108 years old.

The mafia offered him 12,000 dollars to let a few pass balls go by
for extra runs as there was heavy gambling done then , but refused
even tho he  had death threats on him .

Cy Young wanted him for his battery mate most of the time because his catching percentage was the highest in baseball history.
His career ended after 12 years , because back then they did not have
the protective gear they have now and all the foul balls hitting his
legs and knees caused so much brusing that a bone diease formed that
his leg had to be amputated to save his life and there went his
career .

Baseball has been my favorite sport and played for many years and
then officiated for years .

I call on pharmacies so drive all day and wear out a vehicle every 3
yeras , but love my work , not in an office , get to see the
country , so who knows how long I will work , work out on a treadmill
every day to stay fit  LOL.

Well may sound boring to some , but have enjoyed life , don't drink
or smoke so I know that has helped , hope all of you are happy ,
sorry to hear some have passed on , will never forget Charlene Ziss
and Wendy Badger , grew up with them in school and had crushes on
them , Charlene and me were the multiplication champs in the fourth
grade , we had MS Dowdy for a teacher who taught us by flash cards
and we were the best , went to school at Davidson , Catalina Jr
High , then Tucson High till Catalina was completed .

Well thats my life .
