Carol Fisher Thompson
Update, Feb. 1, 2006: JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I RETIRED AT THE END OF JUNE, 2005 AND HAVE BEEN AT HOME WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT I'M DOING SIGNINGS FOR FIRST AMERICAN TITLE, ON CALL AND AM VERY BUSY AT THE END OF EVERY MONTH.-Carol
I have lived in Tucson most of the time since graduation. Spent a short time in Enid, Ok, Sacramento, CA, and Phoenix, AZ. when then husband was on active duty with the Air National Guard.
FAMILY: My parents, Deane and Darlene Fisher, are very much alive and active at ages 79 and 81. I lost my paternal grandmother just last year at almost 101. She was very alert and active until just 3 weeks before her death which was attributed to lung cancer. In 1961 I married my high school sweetheart, Jack Wallace and we had 2 children, John(1963) and Paul (1965). Both live in Tucson. Paul is divorced with a daughter(Amanda) and a son(Mark), and owns Budget Pest Control. John is unmarried and is a Service Tech in Paul's company. Jack and I divorced in 1971 and after a whirl-wind courtship I re-married Bob Thompson, an ASU graduate, Sr. V.P. in the Title Insurance business. Bob had 4 children by a previous marriage, Corey(1969)a graduate of UofA, married(Patti)2 daughters, (Lea and Daisey), is a Sr. V.P. with a Tucson Engineering firm; Craig(1962) married(Kelli) has 1 son(Adam)lives in Pasadena, CA and is a Certified Land Surveyer. Tracy(1965)sadly was lost in an accident on a job site as a rod-man in 1986. Cheri (1970) a graduate of NAU is married(Michael) has 2 sons, (Ryan and Dillon) lives in Prescott where she is a Real Estate Agent and her husband Mike manages the Coca Cola plant. Our family is very close and often gathers together for holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. In 2002 on our 30th wedding anniversary, Bob and I re-newed our wedding vows and all of our children and grand children stood up with us. CAREER: College was not an option after graduation so I worked as an information operator for Mountain Bell for 1 year, Tucson Unified School District as a floating secretary for all schools and the main office for 4 years and then took some time off to have my children. My next job became a career with First American Title for 15 yrs as A.V.P. and Escrow Manager, and then with Title USA, FKA USLife Title as V.P., and manager of the Escrow, Account Servicing and Trust Departments. For the past 10 years I have been working in the Mortgage Industry, mostly for Countrywide Home Loans in both the Wholesale and Retail divisions. I am currently working in their Retail division as the Senior Loan Funder. I'm looking forward to retiring within the next year. While in Escrow, I was involved in the formation and chartering of the Arizona State Escrow Association and the American Escrow Association. Elected State President in 1982-3 and in 1984-5 and National President in 1989-90; listed in the 15th Edition of Marquis "Who's Who of American Business Women"; was presented with the first Professional Designation of Certified Senior Escrow Officer in the State of Arizona in 1987; and developed and taught Escrow classes at Pima Community College 2 nights per week from 1979 thru 1981 while working in an escrow capacity.
OPINIONS/PASSIONS: No strong opinions I'd like to share. I try to avoid Politics, have had enough of that in the work place. My passions are my family and our dogs; 3 Miniature Pinschers, Pepper, Chicque, and Chili. We bred Pepper with a champion stud to get some show dogs. She had 4 puppies(a large litter for such a little dog) and all 4 got too big both in height and weight to show. We've never been able to determine why or where that came from in their lineage. We also have a Doberman, Brandi, who is totally ruled, as is our household, by our Min-Pins that we have nick named "the red flood".
AVOCATIONS: My husband and I, our children, and grandchildren are avid snow skiers and spend February's at our time share in Park City, Utah. We also enjoy camping and spending time at our "cabin" in Rocky Pointe, Mexico. In my spare time I love to gourmet cook, crochet and do many different crafts.
STORIES: No stories to tell now, will look forward to doing that when we get together.
